Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. As a child, she was exposed to many classical music and old Boleros. Also, she listened to the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana is a fan of tangos and operas as well as other dramatic performances. Her mother teaches her how to sing, but she started more intense singing lessons with Flavio Belcerra at 16 when the singer was famous as a Mexican opera tenor. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara before moving on to Toluca in Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. As a student and young professional, she sang with various chamber groups as well as opera choruses in Guadalajara and Mexico City. When she moved to America in the year 2000, she joined the United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present home in southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer with the traditional Latin American music at private occasions. As a musician and teacher she has volunteered for many projects in the community due to her enthusiasm and passion for music. Ana was also previously a member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and The Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana hopes that with her performance of Latin American traditional songs, that she will inspire a love, especially for the young generation, for keeping this music alive.
